The Allsvenskan Swedish league  and the Superettan football season returns on Saturday with 16 teams looking forward to battling it out for top honours in each division.

The Allsvenskan which is the top tier and the Superrettan the second tier have had a number of Kenyan players plying their trade there over the years.

Currently, three top Kenyan internationals have featured in these two leagues and have expressed their delight at the return of the league.

Apart from Eric 'Marcello' Ouma who was called up for international duty, Joseph Okumu and Eric Omondi missed out. We profile the three below:

Kenyan Players In the Swedish League.

Eric `Marcello' Ouma

The left footed defender features for the Swedish club AIK who are looking forward to resume their matches on Monday as they host Degerfors FC.

Ouma featured for Harambee Stars at the AFCON qualifiers as Kenya locked horns with Egypt and the final game where Stars made a trip over to Togo.

With his current fine form Ouma is looking forward to putting up an outstanding performance this season for AIK.

Joseph Okumu.

The 23 year-old Central defender is also looking forward to getting back with his club IF Elfsborg FC despite reports stating that he might make a move to the Scotish giants Rangers FC this summer.

Okumu was not able to play for Harambee Stars during the international break after he suffered an injury while on club duty back in Sweden. Elfsborg will be resuming back this sunday for their first league match against Djugårdens IF.

Eric Johanna Omondi .

The midfielder plays in the second tier Superettan side Jönköpings Södra and is also looking forward to making a return where his club will be facing Vasalund in the matchday 1 fixture.

Johanna has been an impressive player for both his club and country as he was part of the Harambee Stars team that took part in AFCON competition in Egypt 2019. Though he never participated in the recent Ghost Mulee's side due to issues with match fitness.
