The Kenya Rugby Union has confirmed the return of the Safari Sevens, a flagship sevens tournament in the country.

A statement sent to the press on Thursday September 16 confirmed the event dates for 30th and 31st October at the Nyayo National Stadium behind closed doors.

The event, first played in 1996 was last held in 2019 with Kenyan representative team, Morans, winning the tournament. However, the tournament  failed to take place in 2020 due to the COVID19 pandemic.

The Safari Sevens has usually served as a build up for the Kenya Sevens team, Shujaa, ahead of their annual participation in the Sevens World Series.
