Sofapaka President to Foot Naya’s Chemotherapy Bill

Kenyan Premier League side Sofapaka boss Elly Kalekwa has promised to help settle the medical bills of youngster Wisdom Naya after he was diagnosed with cancerous soft tissue sarcoma on his left knee.

The young midfielder is a former Sofapaka FC player and was signed after rising through the club;s youth ranks.

A couple of public figures came through to offer Wisdom Naya in settling his medical expenses before the Sofapaka president came out to offer his help in assisting Naya financially.

The club president through the club's website stated that he had been touched by Naya's condition and as a football family they have been resolved in being involved in his treatment.He narrated that he is going to bring together other club partners and friends in order to ensure that the young midfielder gets a necessary support for his medical attention.

Wisdom Naya who was promoted to the senior team back in the 2019 season, was grateful for Kalekwa's efforts which were aimed at seeing him through his treatment period. The chemotherapy sessions are reportedly expected to cost Ksh55,000 daily for three days.

Naya's family also expressed gratitude towards the support they have received from the FKF Premier league administrator and Club president as their son needed urgent and proper medical treatment hoping that his support will help his son get back on his feet sooner.

His teammates also expressed support to their club members as they wished him well on his medical treatment and journey back to recovery.

The young midfielder was spotted by the Batoto Ba Mungu back in 2018 Copa Coca Cola Championship where he featured for Kenya and put up an outstanding performance that attracted the club to have him pen a deal with them.
