AFC Leopards coach Patrick Aussems will return to the country on April 29 to resume his duties with the 13-time Kenyan champions.

The Belgian coach left the country on April 1 for a holiday promising to return when football resumes in the country.

Aussems has confirmed that he has received the first dose of the covid-19 vaccine and will receive the second one on 28th, a day before he jets back to the country.

The 56-year old former Standard Liege defender joined Ingwe as the head coach on February 8, taking over from caretaker coach Anthony Kimani.

The appointment of Aussems caused a stir in the Ingwe with Modo  resigning from his assistant coach role claiming that he was being used as a fallback plan when things didn’t go right.

"At least we have improved the squad and I believe that it can challenge for the title Mr. Aussems has inherited a very good squad, I believe that he can take it places .At the moment, I will relax and weigh my options, I haven't decided yet what to to. Still early days, anyone can win the title" said Antony Kimani after resigning.

He would later join his former boss at AFC Leopards Andre Cassa Mbungo who took over reigns at Bandari FC.

The return of Aussems acts as a relief to many Ingwe fans and stakeholders who are used to seeing their coaches walk away without warning.
