Wolves Declare Themselves 2018/19 'Premier League Champions'

Wolves have updated their Twitter bio,jokingly declaring themselves Premier League champions for the 2018-2019 season in response to the formation of a European Super League (ESL). 

The 'Big Six' of Manchester United, Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester City, Arsenal and Tottenham announced on Sunday their intention to join a breakaway competition.

Nuno Espirito Santo's side finished seventh in the 2018-2019 campaign, behind those six clubs, and they now changed their Twitter bio to read: 'Official account of Wolverhampton Wanderers. Premier League Champions 2018/19.'The club shared a screenshot of their new bio with the caption: 'It's probably too late for a parade' with a trophy and celebrating emojis.

Manchester City won the league that season, with Liverpool finishing one point behind in second.

The six English clubs have been joined by Real Madrid, Barcelona, Atletico Madrid, Inter Milan, AC Milan and Juventus in their plans for a Super League.
