Experienced utility back Darwin Mukidza will captain The Kenya Simbas in the closing match of their South African tour when they take on Spanish side Diables Barcelona on Thursday evening.
Regular skipper Daniel Sikuta has been given a total rest after being a core part of the team that played in the first four matches.
Mukidza says the team is ready to bow out on a high and clinch victory in the last match of what he has described as a productive month down South.
“The mood in camp is good and a number of the players are excited that they get to play for the first time in this tour while for others, this will be their second time. They have also picked up the pace of the game during our training sessions and we also saw how the Diables Barcelona play their rugby,” says the KCB man.
He added; “I believe we’re ready for the game and I can assure our supporters that we will give it our best when we take on to the pitch.”
Coach Paul Odera has made several changes to the team that plays today with the likes of Jone Kubu who has been in sensational form, Vincent Onyala and Jacob Ojee all given a rest and will start the match on the bench.
The Simbas will look to complete their month-long tour of the South on a high, having beaten Brazil 36-30 in their penultimate match last weekend.
