
KCB RFC head coach Curtis Olago has added another feather to his already decorated cap after attaining the World Rugby Level Three Coaching Certification.
With the certification Olago becomes only the third Kenyan after Paul Odera and Charles Ngovi to attain this qualification.
The KCB head coach was not the only tactician to earn coaching badges as Felix Oloo, Kevin Amiani and Dennis Mwanja also earned the World Rugby Level 2 coaching certifications.
The quartet of Curtis Olago, Felix Oloo, Kevin Amiani and Dennis Mwanja have acquired new coaching badges.
The Kenya Rugby Union (KRU) took to social media to congratulate the quartet on bolstering their CVs having acquired more knowledge in the game through the coaching certificates.
“Congratulations to KCB and Kenya U20 Head Coach Curtis Olago on his World Rugby Level 3 Coaching Certification, becoming the third Kenyan after Paul Odera and Charles Ngovi to attain this qualification.
“Congratulations to Felix Oloo, Kevin Amiani and Dennis Mwanja on the attainment of their World Rugby Level 2 coaching certifications,” read a statement from KRU.
Among the benefits that come with the World Rugby Level Three Coaching Certification include being able to coach the following elements safely: Restarts; Continuity; Defence; Counter Attack Identify Critical Incidents in a game, Plan and review a season, Manage other coaching and ancillary staff.
The World Rugby Level Three Coaching Certification takes about 150 learning hours to complete and includes re-course work, 10 x 3 hour modules, season diary and 2 live assessment visits.
Curtis is both KCB RFC head coach as well as the Kenya Rugby U20 Head Coach
His team currently is fifth in the Kenya Cup with two wins and a single draw as the season gets underway.
