Tusker FC goalkeeper Emery Mvuyekure has revealed that a career in music would have been on the cards for him if he were not a footballer.

The Rwanda international revealed this in a video posted on social media by the Premier League leaders.

“If I wasn’t a footballer…I would have loved to be a singer,” Mvuyekure says in the video that was posted on Wednesday.

The 28-year-old  who has been at the club for three years since signing from AS Kigali in 2018, also revealed his passion for the Gengetone music genre that has taken the local music scene by storm.

“I love music,” he says, “Since I have been here (Kenya) I have loved Gengetone even though I don’t understand the lyrics.”

In the minute-long video, Mvuyekure also touches on the bond between the players, revealing the joker in the team, the most fashionable and the hardheaded.

“All my teammates are my friends. We are all friends,” he says, “However the jokers in the team who love to disrupt things are Sammy Meja and Rodgers Aloro.

“George Blackberry Odhiambo is the most stubborn while Hillary Wandera is the one with the biggest appetite. Fear him when it comes to eating especially if Ugali is involved.

Fashionable

“Eugene Asike on his part is the most fashionable out of us all, you can see it even with what he posts on social media. He also has good taste in music and is a good dancer too,” he shares.

Mvuyekure certainly has enjoyed life off and on the pitch, particularly this season with Robert Matano’s men currently sitting atop the BPL standings.

Tusker are on course to tying with AFC Leopards as the two teams with the second-most league titles at 12 each. After 16 rounds of play they sit top with a six-point advantage.
