Kenya Harlequins Speedster Sprints into Canadian League

Former Homeboyz RFC and Kenya Harlequins winger Mark Ruga Wandeto has joined British Columbia Premier Rugby League side Ravens Rugby Club in Vancouver-Canada.

Ravens Rugby Club currently competing well, and are the two-time defending Champions (2018-19) of the British Columbia Premier Rugby League.

The 25 year old versatile winger joined Homeboyz RFC in 2015,won three Great Rift 10’s titles, National 7s circuit and staged an MVP performance before moving to Quins later in January 2020 and has been instrumental for Kenya Harlequins, scoring five tries in the current ongoing season.

Wandeto played his last game for Quins in a 21-20 win over MMUST where he scored the match winning try.

Speaking during an interview while revealing the development, an excited Wandeto could not hide his joy as he bid farewell to his former Quins mates and technical bench.

“I feel really good getting to try new environment and all,the joy is beyond explanation to say the least,I be back one day at Quins,I believe I still have unfinished business with the club. I really enjoyed playing with the boys and wish them all the best in the season.”

“I thank my director Simon and my guy Mike from Australia for believing in me, am looking forward for a successful season,” he added.

Wandeto who has 15 international caps for Kenya 7s made his debut during the 2019 Sydney 7s in Australia,

Wandeto has already linked up with the rest of the squad on a pre-season camp with his debut slated for next weekend when the league is set to commence.
