The Kenya Rugby Union on January 25, announced the return of The National Sevens circuit, after a two-year break.

The popular six-leg tournament which is set for resumption in May 2022, was temporarily halted following the outbreak of the pandemic that saw the government impose restrictions, disrupting sporting activities.

Rugby Union chairman Oduor Gangla welcomed the decision to have the Seven Series back, noting that the union was already looking for the circuit sponsors.

“We have started looking for sponsors and the clubs and players will be delighted to have the Sevens Series back after two years and judging by recent history, it's going to be competitive,” he noted.

The circuit will kickoff with The George Mwangi Kabeberi Memorial Sevens on may 7-8.
