
Harambee Stars forward Eric Johana Omondi has joined Belgian second tier side Waasland-Beveren.
The former Mathare United forward has signed a contract with the Belgian club that extends until the summer.
The Kenyan international moved to Waasland-Beveren as a free agent from the Swedish side Jönköpings Södra IF after his contract expired.
The transfer news was announced by the Belgium club via its social media platforms.
“Waasland-Beveren welcomes Eric Johana Omondi. The Kenyan international can play as an attacking midfielder or as a striker. He comes to Beveren as a free agent for the rest of the season,” the statement read.
Johana had parted ways with Jönköpings Södra IF after five seasons.
The 27 year old Kenyan national team player scored six goals and four assists in 27 games in the Superettan last season.
His new club, Waasland-Beveren is currently second in the Belgian second division as the club looks to reinforce its squad.
Among the players who were recently signed by the club is young centre-back from Ivory coast Adama Adrile Traore who joined the team from Abidjan City FC.
Other players that have been recruited by the club during the January transfer period include Gillet, Ribeiro Costa, Balde, Al Badaoui and Da Costa.
The Harambee stars forward is expected to feature in the clubs next fixture against league leaders Westerlo on Sunday, January 30.
