
The Kenya lionesses head coach Felix Oloo on Wednesday named the squad that will travel to Tunisia for a two week training camp in preparation for the summer Olympic games.
The Lionesses have received a big boost in their squad after flyhalf Grace Adhiambo made it back into the training lineup after missing out on the two outings that the team took part in.The tournament in Tunisia will run for a period of ten days with two tournament weekends.
The mercurial Fly half has been away from the team due to school commitments and is currently fully available to represent the team alongside her teammates in the upcoming tournaments.
“It’s a great feeling being back in the team, I had really missed my teammates, and being back in the setup is something I have been really looking forward to. I hope to have an impactful effect on the team when we face Tunisia and Madagascar in the next two weekends.”Grace said.
Speaking at the Moi International Sports Stadium, Kasarani, where the team has been having their residential camp, Head Coach Felix Oloo said the team’s performance was making gradual improvements and really hopes that Grace's addition to the squad will be impactful.
He added that the team has recorded a tremendous improvement in fitness and recovery and thus remains confident that the team will fly the Lenyan flag high in Tunisia.
The camp in Tunis will be conducted at the Maison du Rugby which will see three women's teams, Kenya, Madagascar and hosts Tunisia converge for training as well as round robin friendly matches.
The first round robin set of matches will be played from 1st and 2nd May while the second tournament will feature on the 7th and 8th May.
Meanwhile, the Lionesses have been in a bubble camp for a week-long training camp at the Kasarani Stadium which was facilitated by the National Olympics Committee of Kenya (NOCK).
