Kenya equalised in the final seconds as Tony Omondi made a try but failed to convert.

At the beginning of the second half, the USA took the lead after Kevon Williams scored a try at the centre followed by a conversion by Lucas Lacamp giving the USA a 12-5 lead.

Seconds to the final whistle Shujaa’s Edmund Anya made a centre try, however, Kenya failed to score the conversion after Daniel Tabbu botched his kick.

If Kenya scored the conversion, they would have levelled the scores 12-12. Keya is set to play their second match against South Africa at 10:40 am.

In the other Pool A match, South Africa handed Canada a heavy defeat with the match ending scoreline of 31-5.

South Africa top the Pool A group with three points with the USA coming in at second with three points, Shujaa and Canada coming in at third and fourth respectively each with a single point.
