Football is all about passion, fun and above all a source of wealth. The new AS Roma manager Jose Mourinho will become the second highest paid coach in the Serie A when he assumes his role next season.
Mourinho was on Tuesday named Roma coach, succeeding his Portuguese counterpart Paulo Fonseca.
Fonseca will however leave the Romans with a handsome package. It has been revealed that the Portuguese manager will pocket €2.2 million according to Finance Football.
Football Italia has also disclosed that Mourinho will be paid an annual salary of €7 million at Roma, which is far less from the €16 million he was earning at Spurs before he was fired last month.
The 58-year-old's yearly earnings at Roma will make him the second-highest-paid manager in Italy's top division, with Inter Milan's Antonio Conte at the top of the list.
Conte helped secure the Nerazzurri's first Serie A title in 11 years this past weekend, with Inter last claiming the title under Mourinho in the 2009/10 campaign.
