KCB striker Enock Agwanda underwent surgery last week and will be out of action for at least eight weeks, the club has confirmed.
Agwanda who has been playing with a strapped knee for most parts of the season opted to go under the knife to rectify nagging injury.
KCB coach Zedekiah Otieno admitted to missing the lethal forward’s experience with the team becoming goal shy at times.
“He has had a nagging knee injury for a while and he has been forcing himself to play with it. That is why you have not been seeing him consistently and even then he has been coming on as a substitute. He finally decided to undergo surgery to deal with the problem once for all,” revealed Otieno.
“He will be out for six weeks before he can even touch the ball. Add another two weeks and it means we cannot have him for at least eight weeks. It is a big blow for us considering that Agwanda is one of the best strikers in the league,” he said.
The Bankers who are second on the log resumed training on Wednesday ahead of the league’s return and are scheduled to take on leaders Tusker on May 15.
