Dennis Oliech has revealed that he would want to be the next Football Kenya Federation (FKF) President.

The former Harambee Stars captain says he is not interested in a coaching career like most ex-footballers.

Many Kenyans have been calling on Oliech,36, to venture into coaching but he insists it is not his path.

"I do not want to be a coach, I want to be working in the federation to stand a chance of helping upcoming footballers through youth programs," he said on a local digital sports show.

"If  coaching is the only alternative, maybe under 14 or 16; but for a senior team no, maybe being a manager alongside the likes of Musa Otieno and maybe Jamal Mohamed,"

"We do not have active under-19, under-17, or even under-16 national teams in the country.

"It is what I want to do, to help set youth structures to help the country have that set-up. I am hopeful we can do better with the right structures, it is the only way to make football better in the country."

Oliech has meanwhile said that he is ready to play football if called upon. The former Gor Mahia forward says that he is keeping fit and is just a call away if any team needs his services.

“The other day i received a call from former Harambee Stars coach Adel Amrouche who was asking if i could play in South Africa, I’m weighing my options,” he said.

“At the moment I can challenge a player in the FKF Premier League to try to sprint with me, I will show them dust,” he quipped.

Oliech cancelled his contract with Gor Mahia in 2019 over delayed payments but has opted to drop the matter saying that he at least fulfilled his dream of playing for the reigning league champions.
