
Kenya’s 2018 world U20 5000m gold medalist Edward Zakayo will feature at the Cardiff Cross Challenge on Saturday 15.
The Cardiff Cross Challenge will kick off the World Athletics Cross Country Tour Gold 2022/2023 season.
Zakayo will return to the cross-country field having finished fourth in the 10,000m race at the 2022 Commonwealth Games.

Other major competitors include the Ugandan duo of Joel Ayeko and Rogers Kibet.
Another name to look out for will be Ethiopian Gizealew Abeje Ayana, who finished second at the Cardiff Half Marathon on October 2.
In the women's field, Kenya’s Pamela Kosgei, sister to marathon record holder Brigid, is among the athletes set to grace the event.
Kosgei holds the Kenyan U18 cross country title and finished fifth in the 3,000m steeplechase, her latest competition at the World Athletics U20 Championships Cali 2022.
The Cardiff Cross Challenge will be her first World Athletics Cross Country Tour event and also her first race in Europe.
The 2022/2023 British Athletics Cross Challenge Series will take place on five different occasions starting in Cardiff and concluding in Perth.
