Both men's (Shujaa) and women's (Lionesses) national rugby squads have been named by head coaches ahead of their respective tournaments

The 2022/2023 Rugby Sevens World Series season is slated to kick off on November 4, in Hong Kong, China.

“Sammy is not available at this [particular time so kick-offs are a concern. We are working on it,” McGrath noted.

Nelson Oyoo will captain Shujaa when they play in Pool D alongside Argentina, Ireland and Canada.

The women's rugby national team Head Coach Dennis Mwanja also unveiled the Lionesses squad for the Rugby Africa Women's tournament.

The Lionesses will be traveling to Uganda on Thursday, October 27, for two matches against the host country and Zambia.

According to the Lionesses tactician, it was difficult to name the squad due to the talent and competitiveness within.

Mwanja named four debutantes, including Natasha Emali, Hesla Khisa,Phoebe Akinyi and Naomi Jelagat.

The Lionesses will be captained by Peruz Muyuka who noted that the team will be taking the policy of ‘each game at a time'.

The team will be hoping to post impressive results at the tournament so as to book a direct ticket to the inaugural World Womes 15s WXV in 2023.
