
English manager Scott Parker will succeed Carl Hoefkens as head coach of Club Brugge after the club confirmed his appointment on December 31.
The Belgium side announced the appointment of former England international as their new manager following the sacking of Hoefkens.
Hoefkens was relieved of his duties on Tuesday, December 27 following the club’s struggle domestically as they sit fourth in the league.

Parker joins Club Brugge following his sacking by Bournemouth on August 31.
The 42-year-old played for Chelsea, Newcastle United, West Ham United and Tottenham Hotspur, among others during his active football career.
Parker played as a midfielder where he featured 18 times for the England national team where he also had the armband.
His coaching career started at Tottenham's U18 before he was appointed as an assistant coach at Fulham under Claudio Ranieri and Slavisa Jokanovic.
He was later picked as the head coach at Craven Cottage in 2019 leading the side to a promotion to the Premier League in 2020.
Parker later left the London side after it suffered relegation in 2021 and joined Bournemouth.
As a manager at Bournemouth, he was able to guide his side to a promotion to the English top-tier league.
According to Club Brugge's statement, Scott Parker will be presented as the new manager in the coming week at the Belfius Basecamp.
