Wanyama Pens Down New Deal at CF Montreal

CF Montréal announced that Victor Wanyama signed a new contract with the club.

An announcement on the club's socials on Friday, January 6, confirmed that Wanyam penned down a two-year contract.

Wanyama’s contract with Montreal expired in December 2022, after being at the club for three seasons.

“We are glad to have concluded a new deal with Victor and that he remains with us. During the last three seasons, he has been an important player on the field and in the locker room. 

“His personality, his experience, and his qualities as a player will notably help us with the stability of the group for the season to come,” Vice-President and Chief Sporting Officer, Olivier Renard stated.

In his statement, Wanyama expressed his excitement to continue his stay at the club.
 
“When I arrived here, I believed in the club’s project. As we continue to grow, this is even more true. I am eager to continue bringing my best for my teammates, the coaching staff, and the Montreal supporters," Wanyama stated.

The 31-year-old joined Montreal on a free transfer from Tottenham Hotspur on March 3, 2020.

He has featured in 80 matches for Montreal scoring five goals and providing eight assists.

In 2022 Wanyama was a finalist for the Club's Most Valuable Player award.
