In last year's edition, Omanyala recorded a time of 6:63 seconds, setting the then National Record.
“It was nice now that I started with 6:60 after finishing last year with 6:63. That shows some improvement, and I am happy about it.
He also disclosed that he would do three more indoor meetings before returning to the outdoor races,
“I am going to Mandeville next, then Paris before finishing in Lievin. After this, I get back to the outdoors,’ Omanyala added.
On whether he would return for the 2023 edition, Omanyal highlighted that he would never miss Miramsa, adding that he will try to interview in French next year.
On the same night, the National Olympic Committee of Kenya President Paul Tergat signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Department of Bouches-du-Rhône, Miramas Metropole, and Miramas Athletics Club.
This will see Kenyan athletes have access to facilities and professionals from the local clubs in the South of France to help prepare for the Olympics.
