Harambee Stars will host Uganda at the Moi International Sports Sports Center Kasarani in the opener of the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers on June 5 or 6.

According to the roaster released on Thursday, Stars will be on the road to the Amahoro stadium to meet the hosts Rwanda a week later.

A double-header fixture against Mali will then follow up in September.

Return leg fixtures against Uganda in Kampala and Rwanda will take place in October.

The Kenya versus Uganda tie will be of keen interest to many East African sports fans because of the rivalry that has spun so many years. In their last encounter in 2019, the two teams drew 1-1 in an international friendly played at the Moi International Sports Center Kasarani.

For Rwanda, it will be the first time they will be meeting Kenya in a FIFA sanctioned tournament. Mali on the other hand played Kenya in the 2004 Africa Cup of Nations with the former winning 3-1.

Football Kenya Federation (FKF) president Nick Mwendwa believes that  Stars will have a better chance of performing well in this competition this time round.
