
Gor Mahia fans are skeptical over their former captain Kenneth Muguna staying at the club after reports have linked the star midfielder with Tanzania Premier League side Azam and Congolese club DC Motema Pembe. Muguna is expected to announce his next move in his playing career once his current contract at Gor mahia ends at the end of the season.
Speculations over his departure at the local club among the club die hard fans arose after Muguna was stripped off his captain duties earlier this season when the club had a turbulent start at the beginning of the season.
The Clubs leadership position was however handed over to defender Harun Shakava who made a return to the club from Zambian club Nkana Fc. Kenneth Muguna however has remained to be a star figure in the Gor Mahia midfield and the entire squad at large and his fine form has attracted a couple of offers that might trigger his next destination in the near future.
The K'ogalo midfielder however stated that he hopes to serve the club as per his contract and will do so until the contract ends. Despite the poor start of the season by the former Kenya Premier league Champions Muguna is optimistic that the club still has a chance to win the title once sporting activities fully resume in the country.
With the two clubs bidding interest on Muguna it is evident that they will as well face an uphill task of convincing the midfielder to depart the 18 time kenyan premier league champions since he had signed a lengthy contract at the club and has been dedicated to serve them while called up on duty.
Muguna has only six months left until his contract expires and with the recent discomfort of being dismissed as the club's captain might propel his moving out of the club.This will definitely be a sad moment for the fans and the local club's stakeholders as they still hope to see Muguna at the club in the coming season.
His impressive performance while at Gor Mahia has earned him a spot at the Harambee Stars during the African Cup qualifiers when Kenya hosted the Pharaohs at Kasarani and went into a 1-1 draw, he however picked up an injury that saw him miss on the next lineup when Kenya won 2-1 against Togo in Lome.
