Hockey Union Join Vaccination Campaign Ahead of Proposed League Resumption.

The Kenya Hockey Union on Thursday facilitated the vaccination of their players at the Kasarani indoor arena. 

The programme was flagged off by the Sports Cabinet Secretary Amb.Amina Mohamed in collaboration with the Ministry of health ahead of sports resumption in the country.

The activity saw the hockey players and club officials receive their first jab of the vaccine as they also look forward to get back into their cut short league games.

The Kenya hockey league was halted with the women's side having played their first match whereas the mens league was meant to resume tomorrow where Butali were meant to clash against Waza as the Blazers faced Wolverines. 

The women's side had a taste of the league games before being suspended as they played one game. As per the current standings Amira Sailors Hockey club top the table with three points as Blazers hockey club stand at the second position with 3 points as well .

The DFG Wolverines are at third as they tie points with Strathmore Scorpions who are at fourth place.

The vaccination programme is expected to carry on as the Ministry of Sports Culture and Heritage targets to vaccinate 3500 sports personalities across the country.Hockey and other sporting activities are expected to resume after the vaccination activities are done.
