Sports Cabinet Secretary Amina Mohamed has formed a caretaker committee to run the Football Kenya Federation (FKF), chaired by retired judge Aaron Ringera.
This is following recommendations of the inspection committee mandated to do an audit of the Football Kenya Federation
The CS made the decision on Thursday morning after receiving the Committee’s report at her offices, two weeks after they were mandated to carry out an inspection of the Federation’s books.
Amina wrote to FIFA on Wednesday, asking for an urgent meeting to explain her cause of action among her pointers was the inability of the federation to account for the huge sums of money channeled to it over the last three years.
She also noted that the federation tried to block Government audits at the federation.
The current development means that the FKF president Nick Mwendwa and the CEO Barry Otieno will stay out of office unless otherwise.
The secretariat of the federation shall remain in operation at the moment, this happens a few hours to Harambee Stars match against Uganda cranes in the FIFA World Cup Qualifier.
