Kenya, Uganda Past Encounters

Harambee Stars vs Uganda Cranes will face each other on Thursday, November 11, for the 79th time. 

The first meeting between the two was back in 1926 when Uganda came back from behind to secure a 1-1 CECAFA Cup draw. 

The cranes have an upper hand against Kenya with 32 wins as Kenya has 22 with both drawing 24 games. 

The last time both teams met was in Nairobi in September 2021 in their first leg of the FIFA World Cup Qualifiers where the match ended in a 0-0 draw. 

Uganda is on an unbeaten run with them not losing their last 4 matches in the world cup qualifiers 

On November 22, 2015, Kenya had a 2-0 win against Uganda in a CECAFA Cup match. 

Uganda however secured a 1-0 win in a CECAFA Cup return leg match on December 5,2015. 

Two years later, on March 23, 2017, the two East African rivals played to a 1-1 draw in an International Friendly match. 

In another friendly match on September 8, 2019, Kenya and Uganda played to another 1-1 draw. 

The latest match being on September 2, 2021, the FIFA World Cup qualification match ended in a goalless draw. 

The worst defeat that Kenya has encountered in the East African is a 9-2 loss back in 1937 in a CECAFA Cup match. 

Uganda s worst defeat from Kenya came in 2004 as Kenya beat the Cranes 4-1 in an International Friendly match.
