With the group stage World Cup Qualifiers ending on Tuesday and Wednesday, several teams from UEFA and CONMEBOL regions have already booked direct tickets for the global football showpiece.

A total of 11 teams have officially qualified for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, including the host nation. That leaves 21 spots to be filled in the upcoming months.

Qatar automatically qualified as they are the host nation, others include Germany, Denmark, Brazil, Belgium, France, Croatia, Spain, Serbia, England and Switzerland.

A total of 32 teams from across the globe will head to Qatar in 2022 to compete in the World Cup.

However, with the group qualification matches ending, the fate of the rest will be decided through play-offs.

The draw for the UEFA World Cup 2022 play-offs is expected to be conducted on Friday November 26, at FIFA headquarters in Zurich, Switzerland.

The play-offs take place from March 24 to 29 2022, with 10 group runners-up joined by the two best group winners from the 2020/21 UEFA Nations League overall ranking that have neither qualified directly as group winners nor entered the play-offs already as group runners-up.

During a play-off draw on November 26 2021, those 12 teams will be drawn into three play-off paths for one-off semi-finals and a final, with the three path winners then qualifying for the tournament in Qatar.

The draw will be seeded based upon qualifying-round points, with the six best runners-up being seeded, while the two UEFA Nations League teams are unseeded.

The teams set for play-off include Portugal, Scotland, Italy, Russia, Sweden, Poland, Wales and North Macedonia.
