Football Kenya Federation Premier League champions Tusker FC stepped up their preparations ahead of next week’s CAF Confederation Cup play-off match against Tunisian side CS Sfaxien.

The brewers will host the Tunisian giants at the Nyayo National Stadium on November 28 in the first leg before playing the corresponding fixture a week later in Sfax.

On Thursday, the team played a friendly match against Nairobi Regional League side Sam West Black Boots FC winning 7-0.

Ibrahim Joshua scored twice with Kevin Monyi, Charles Momanyi, Kevin Okoth, Rodgers Ouma and new signing Nicholas Kipkurui adding a goal each.

The team will have another friendly match on Saturday as they inch closer to match day and are expected to get into camp on Monday next week.

Tusker have had a difficult start to the season losing three of their first five matches of the Premier League season. Their last outing was a 3-0 thrashing at the hands of Kariobangi Sharks and head coach Robert Matano hopes the team can put behind their backs that disappointment.

In the squad, Matano has been handed a boost with the return to fitness of defender Charles Momanyi (hamstring) and Clyde Senaji (thigh). Momanyi was stretchered out after three minutes of their 4-0 thrashing at the hands of Zamalek while Senaji picked his injury in training before the game against Sharks.

They have however been handed fresh concerns with striker Deogratious Ojok picking an injury in training last week.
