The latest tussle between the Ministry of Sports, FIFA and FKF has sparked a debate among football stakeholders with former Harambee Stars head coach Jacob Ghost Mulee airing his views on the same
On November 18, the radio presenter through an interview with the press noted that the appointments by the ministry were out of place.
He highlighted that the appointees did not have knowledge about football and how football should be run.
Football has been disrespected, because the people on the caretaker committee do not have any clue about football and running of football.”
“Football is a profession, I have never seen a doctor's problem be solved by a carpenter, so if that committee was entirely of football people who understand the game, the intrigues, what FIFA means and what the harmony between the Government, Football federation and FIFA can bring then i'm happy with that.”
“Failure to do so it's the coaches, referees and players who will suffer. Currently we are doing very well in international football. We have referees officiating up to the world cup level.”
“If the ban comes, we might not even be able to officiate in Qatar because the referees who are supposed to officiate in Qatar are about to be selected, so there is so much to lose.”
“The institutions should remain intact and move, the league has been stopped for two weeks now. In my head I am thinking, who is the new secretariat to run the league? Are we starting a fresh?” he quipped.
“I do not think it’s the right thing to do because if an if we get another r office election start, kenya's football history the minute you win elections the opposition starts working on you, so it's going to be the same thing year in year out but we must respect the rule of law, FIFA must be respected, the Government of Kenya must be respected and the federation also must be respected,” he concluded
