Spanish giants have now been paired up against French champions Paris Saint-Germain after an error was detected in the first draw that subsequently led to the entire redraw of the Champions League's round of 16.

Controversy struck when Manchester United were initially drawn to play against Villarreal, yet having already faced the Liga club in the group stages, this was in error. Uefa’s Giorgio Marchetti spotted the mistake and ordered the tie to be redrawn, with Villarreal ultimately facing Manchester City. But a technical error appeared to subsequently block United from being selected as one of the teams eligible to play the next side drawn out of the hat, Atletico with Uefa confirming the initial draw void.

PSG who were drawn up with Manchester United, are still yet to be favoured by any luck as they face a tough opponent in Los Blancos. The sizzling fixture will also see former Real Madrid skipper and arguably one of the best defenders in the world, Sergio Ramos return to where his football all began… Will it be an emotional return for the maestro centre back or will the Parisiennes deliver a huge upset to the Spanish giants? Only time will tell.

Only Chelsea have been able to pair yet again for the second time against Lille. 2019 champions Liverpool now face Inter Milan, three-time winners United take on Atletico Madrid and Premier League champions City play Sporting.

First legs will take place on 15-16 and 22-23 February, before second legs on 8-9 and 15-16 March.
