
Did you know that Tim Weah, the son of legendary African footballer George Weah, who is now Liberia's president, does not play for his father's country?
The 22-year-old forward was born and raised in the United States. During his early days as a footballer, he had a hard choice between the New York metro area and Florida, with his mother coaching him.
He first cap for the US in June 2021, as he replaced Sergino Dest for the U.S. Men's National Team against Mexico.
This was his first appearance in an official competition which officially cap-tied him to the USA.

He began his football development within the US Soccer Development Academy and was already playing with the U-14s in 2012.
He has featured in various top European Clubs like French giants Paris Saint-Germain, (PSG) and is currently playing for Lille.
Weah, before choosing to represent the USA he was eligible to play for either France, Jamaica or Liberia.
The Lille forward in 2017 became the first U.S. male at any level to score a hat trick in the knockout round of a FIFA competition after 5-0 win against Paraguay in the Round of 16.
Weah in March 2018, made history as he became the first player born in 2000 to receive an MNT cap.
The young player while living in Paris also took to practice in his two preferred areas of interest that being the high-fashion boutiques of the Champs-Élysées and creating music.
