Newcastle Football Club has ruled out the possibility of Neymar da Silva Santos, better known as Neymar, joining the team, stating that it was not planning to make such a big financial effort to land the PSG star.
According to a report by The Telegraph, the English club - with Saudi Arabian owners - is not in the space of making too many “crazy financial moves” in this transfer market.
The Brazilian player has a contract until June 2025 and would not leave for a low transfer fee on top of the exorbitant salary he earns.
In the winter market, Newcastle had already spent around 100 million Euros in strengthening its squad and to avoid relegation.
The team, however, does not want to invest more money in the summer ahead of next season.
Eddie Howe’s team is likely to spend less than 90 million Euros in the upcoming market despite its lucrative takeover that made it one of the richest teams in the world of football.
Barcelona has also been linked with Neymar but chances of re-singing the South American player during this summer’s transfer window are very low.
Neymar has managed 92 goals and 57 assists in 137 appearances for PSG in all competitions.
He continues to cross off the list of possible destinations for the next season.
