Spanish Giants Real Madrid have confirmed that their dependable centre back Raphael Varane will miss out on the return leg of their Champions League semi-final clash against Chelsea at the Stamford Bridge after he suffered an injury.

The France international featured for the Los Blancos in the first leg against Chelsea for the entire 90 minutes last week, but only lasted  for 45 minutes against Osasuna  in their next La Liga Fixture over the weekend before being substituted with discomfort in his leg.

Real Madrid have revealed that Varane has indeed suffered an injury on his right abductor muscle, and as a result he will not be available for the tour to London.

The Zinedine Zidane coached side should be boosted by the returns of left back Ferland Mendy and Captain Sergio Ramos, after both solid defenders returned to team training on Monday morning.

Varane joins the likes of Lucas Vazquez and Dani Carvajal on the injury list, but fellow defender and Brazilian international Marcelo should be cleared to play despite being called up for polling duties.

Real Madrid head to the English capital after a 1-1 draw in the first leg of their clash with Chelsea, during which Christian Pulisic broke the deadlock before Karim Benzema's 71st Champions League goal levelled the fixture.

Despite Madrid being the custodians of the Champions League competition having being crowned champions of Europe 13 times they will still have an uphill task at Stamford Bridge as Chelsea have an added advantage of their away goal which will require Madrid to win for them to be on the Champions League finals slot
