A video of Australian tennis star Nick Kyrgios criticizing a fan at the final of the 2022 Wimbledon Grand Slam played on Sunday, July 10, went viral.

In the short clip, the 27-year-old complained to one of the  chair umpires about a drunk woman distracting him at the closely contested final held at the All England Club.

He claimed that one of the lady spectators was talking to him while in the process of serving, thus making him lose focus.

“She’s distracting me when I’m serving in a Wimbledon final. Then she did it again, and it nearly cost me the game. Why’s she still here? She’s drunk out of her mind!” Sports Illustrated reported.

When the umpire requested him to specify exactly which spectator was distracting him, his reply was priceless. The world number forty pointed to a female fan in a dress.

“She’s drunk out of her mind and talking to me in the middle of a game. She’s the one who looks like she’s had 700 drinks,” Kyrgios stated.

Nick's personality attracts mixed reactions. Some see him as a controversial athlete while fans view him as an entertainer. The Australian has reached more than eight Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) finals. He has clinched six ATP titles but is yet to win a Grand Slams singles tournament.

The unseeded player who knocked out Italy's Stefano Tsitsipas in the third round was defeated by the world number one Novak Djokovic.

In the 2022 Wimbledon tournament, players failed to receive any ranking points hence Nick will still retain his position despite losing in the final. The World Tennis Association (WTA) and ATP made the decision after the organizers banned Belarusian and Russian athletes following Moscow's invasion of neighbors Ukraine.
