Paris Saint Germain forward, Lionel Messi, will make his acting debut in the second season of an Argentine comedy television show titled Los Protectores that will be released in 2023.
Although the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner has featured in various brand advertisements, he has never played a role in a comic drama.
Los Protectores revolves around three football agents who are forced by circumstances to unite to save their businesses. These agents establish a firm that goes beyond managing the financial interests of their football clients.

The established company is also engaged in safeguarding the personal interests of football players. It not only helps clients overcome temptations but also sticks with them during good and difficult times.
Despite each of these three agents leading entirely different lifestyles and having unique personalities, they are able to balance each other perfectly, making their company a success.
Actor Andres Parra revealed that they were surprised by the former Barcelona player’s acting ability.
“It really surprised us all, not only with his quality as a person but also with his acting quality,” Parra was quoted by Goal.com.

The movie crew has already filmed the scenes in which Messi will appear. They were filmed in Paris, France where Messi has been living since sealing his controversial transfer to Ligue 1 giants PSG on August 11, 2021.
Messi - who is viewed by many fans as the greatest player of the 21st Century - is not the first footballer to make an appearance in a television show. His current PSG teammate Neymar Junior, French international Eric Cantona and former Manchester United player, David Beckham, have previously played roles in popular films.
Neymar made an appearance in a Spanish series titled Money Heist which ended in December last year. Cantona - on the other hand - featured in a 2009 movie which goes by the name Looking for Eric.
Beckham has made guest appearances in several films including Outlaws (2015), The Road Trip (2016) and Legend of the Sword (2017).
