Lionel Messi has established himself as one of the greatest footballers of all time, having had a successful career at Barcelona and the Argentina national team.

The PSG forward is known for his humble nature, leading a simple life unlike most of his peers in the football world.

Recently, Messi showed his love for his best friend and former Barcelona teammate, Luis Suarez, by lending him his private jet.

Messi allowed Suárez to use his Ksh1.7 billion (£12m) private jet to travel to Uruguay for his unveiling with Nacional.

Suarez flew to his homeland on Sunday, July 31, together with his family for his unveiling as a Nacional player.

In a video captured during the unveiling of Suarez by Nacional, Messi wished his former teammate success in his new football chapter

“Hey Gordo, well, you are out there now. I would like to send you a big hug and wish you all the best at this new stage of your career.

"I know how important it is for you to be there at Nacional, back at home and in your country after so long, to prepare for the World Cup, which is just around the corner.

“Now I’m going to have to follow Nacional from here. You know I love you very much and I'd do everything for you. I wish you all the best and hope to see you soon," Messi wrote in his message to Suarez.

Messi and Suarez have played together for Barcelona with their chemistry being described as top level, having been catalysed by Neymar Jr's presence. The trio partnership of Messi, Neymar and Suarez was known as MSN while the three played for Barcelona.

Messi and Suarez, together with their spouses, often go on vacation together.
