UEFA is set to hold talks with the UK government and the English FA on Monday, May 10th concerning moving the Champions League final from Istanbul to London.

Wembley will be the most likely venue for the champions league final fixture between the two English Giants Chelsea and Manchester City once the move is facilitated.

A decision between both parties is expected to be reached by Tuesday, May 11, on whether the final clash will be conducted at the Ataturk Stadium in Istanbul as originally planned by UEFA or at a different location.

Restrictions on foreign travel are set to be relaxed on May 17, but Turkey was recently added to the UK government's list of 'red' countries after a high rise in Covid-19 cases.

The Wembley stadium will serve as a neutral ground in hosting the finals as it did in conducting the 2013 UEFA final which saw Bayern Munich lift the title.

UEFA received a couple of offers from various English clubs which were willing to conduct the UEFA final match. The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Arsenal's Emirates Stadium, Newcastle United's St. James' Park and Aston Villa's Villa Park are stated to be not under consideration even after offering to host the finals while UEFA is also not considering Glasgow's Hampden Park or the Principality Stadium in Cardiff.

The Champions League final is set for May 29th, which will be the same date as the highly awaited Championship playoff final which was meant to take place at Wembley Stadium.

This might force the FA to shift finals or reschedule it for a later date either taking the game to an alternative venue or being played 48 hours before the final between City and Chelsea.
