21-Yr-Old Set to Debut for Simba's at RWC 2023 Final Qualification Tourney

Kenya Simba coach Paul Odera has made a total of 12 changes for the team that will take on Portugal in their second clash at the RWC 2023 Final Qualification Tournament in Dubai. 

The squad, which was announced on November 10, has seen Odera giving a debut to 21-year-old Amon Wamalwa. 

Wamalwa will start at fly-half in the match between Simba and Portugal on Saturday, November 12.

19-year-old Joshua Weru will make his first full start for the Simba's at number eight in place of Bethuel Anami, who is rested for this fixture. 

The other changes to the side include Edward Mwaura and Teddy Akala in the front row, Brian Juma at lock, Martin Owilah in the back row, Brian Tanga as scrum half, Beldad Ogeta and Timothy Omela on the wings. 

Odera has also made some positional changes which will see Samuel Asati moves from scrum half to fullback and Thomas Okeyo shift from lock to the blindside flank.  

With the absence of team captain Daniel Sikuta who is rested, Malcolm Onsando will take on the armband. 

Another potential debutant will be Clinton Odhiambo, who has been introduced to the match day squad for the first time together with Peter Kilonzo, Samson Onsomu and Ian Masheti. 

The bench will also have Eugene Sifuna, Andrew Siminyu, George Nyambua and Geoffrey Okwatch who all featured on Sunday, November 6, against the USA.
