
Former Harambee Stars defender Musa Otieno resigned from Kenya Police FC, days after the start of the 2022/ 2023 season.
The 48-year-old parted ways with the club after their narrow 1-0 loss to a high-flying Kakamega Homeboyz side in a Kenya Premier League match.
Police FC had also lost their opening match of the campaign - they were beaten by KCB.
The law enforcers splashed a lot of money to make their team compete for titles before the start of the season.
They even pitched their pre-season campaign in Rwanda, but their recent performances have been under par so far.
It is not clear what made Musa leave Police FC, but it is reported that he wants to have some time alone. The club is yet to make an official statement regarding the matter.

Otieno, the player to have played most matches in the history of Harambee Stars, joined Police FC earlier this year.
Until his resignation, he served as the club’s assistant coach under Sammy Omollo Pamzo, another player who shone for Harambee stars during his playing days.
Musa is one of Kenya’s most decorated and successful players. The towering center back got his first national team call up in 1993 at the age of 19.
He was part of the star studded squad that qualified for the 2004 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.
The player who operates a foundation in Nairobi, featured for several clubs during his professional career including Tusker, AFC Leopards and Gor Mahia.
After hanging his boots, Otieno ventured into coaching and has tutored a number of clubs including the national men’s team.
