Fast-rising tennis player Angella Okutoyi on Monday, December 5, disclosed that her life changed after her success on the court this season.
In an interview on NTV, Okutoyi divulged that being a star forced her to change her everyday schedule.
“I would say changing my mindset, at the same time changing my schedule, cause now my schedule isn’t the same. I have to change a lot of my training time, and have time for the corporate events,” she stated.

Okutoyi broke into the limelight this year, registering remarkable performances in Grand Slam events such as the US Open, French Open, and the Australian Open.
At the Wimbledon Open, Angella made history by becoming the first Kenyan to win the coveted girls' doubles title.
When asked if her personality has equally changed, the 18-year-old indicated that she is still the same humble girl.
“For me, I see myself as an ordinary person, because even when I walk here, they know me but they don’t tell me. Like, I don't feel like I am that big.
“I believe it is not really in my head right now and which is something good because I know if it gets into my head, I won't be able to do anything, I would feel like I am too big for the rest,” explained Okutoyi.
In her closing remarks, she advised young people to keep dreaming because nothing is impossible.
“I am just happy that I am able to inspire the young ones and just show them that anything is possible," adding that most stars in the sport, including herself, do not come from a rich background.
According to the teenager, being able to show other rising stars that it does not matter where they come from but the right mindset and belief is sufficient motivation to achieve the impossible.
