Ulinzi Starlets Beat Mathare United to Seal Playoffs Spot in FKF Women Premier League

Ulinzi Starlets thrashed Mathare United Women 6-1 in their FKF Women Premier League match 11 which was played on Saturday, May 22, at the Camp Toyoyo grounds. 

Lucy Mukhwana broke the deadlock in the sixth minute giving Ulinzi an early lead.She again completed her brace a couple of minutes after her first goal after outplaying Mathare United's  shaky defence line. 

Mukhwana was on the scoresheet again after she summed up her hat-trick in the 16th minute when she converted a freekick with a header that landed the ball to the back of the net. 

Lucy Mukhwana was in fine form after she nailed her fourth goal to give Ulinzi a clear lead against the Slum Girls before the half hour mark. 

Siliya Rasoha was also on target after firing a shot past the goalkeeper making it 5-0 before both teams headed to the locker room. 

After the halftime break, Emily Egesa netted the sixth goal for Ulinzi Starlets in what seemed as a one sided match but  with Emma Wainaina’s goal for Mathare United Women in the 87th minute summing up as a consolation goal with the full time whistle sealing the scores at 6-1.

The win saw the soldiers seal a spot in the league playoffs that will determine the winner of the Kenya Women premier champions while Mathare United losing streak was extended to 9 defeats in the FKF Kenya Women Premier League.
