Harambee Stars forward Michael Olunga advised employees who work in offices for long hours to adopt his recovery technique.

Olunga noted that the dry cupping therapy, placing cups on the skin to create suction, is good for people who seat for long hours.

It is believed that suction helps improve the flow of energy in the body and facilitates healing.

“I would recommend this recovery session. If you seat for long hours or work long hours or extremely intense exercises," Olunga noted.

The therapy session helps increases blood circulation to the area where the cups are placed relieving muscle tension.

Its procedure begins with one being applied an antiseptic on their back before the oil is applied to relax the muscles. A ball of cotton soaked in surgical spirit is then lit to help suck off the air in the special cups before being placed on the back.

In a past interview on Citizen TV doctor Swabir Ramadhan noted that dry cupping helps solve back, neck, shoulder, and chest pains.

Swabir noted that the cups stay on the body for about 10 minutes helping blood circulation and stimulating the nerves around the spinal cord.

After 10 minutes the cups are removed leaving painless marks on the body which help in further diagnosis of affected areas.

Dry Cupping therapy is one of the oldest methods of traditional medicine with its origins in China.
