FIFA President Gianni Infantino has revealed new measures set to be implemented to improve the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) system.

In a message to football fans, Infantino through his social media on January 31, called on fans to follow the FIFA World Club Cup in order to witness the changes.

Infantino noted that it would be a great chance for the fans to see more clarity on refereeing decisions.

The  FIFA Club World Cup kicked off on February 1, in Morocco where FIFA will be implementing some changes in how referees communicate VAR-related decisions.

“For the first time, the referee will speak directly to fans in the stadium and TV audiences at home through their microphone, explaining why a decision has been made.

“This is part of a FIFA trial as we always want to improve VAR clarity and enhance education. We hope you will like it!” Infantino's post read.

FIFA Club World Cup sees seven teams compete for a trophy with six of the teams being continental champions.

FIFA took the tournament back to Morocco after having it in the Middle East for the past five consecutive editions.

Spanish giants Real Madrid will be hoping to win the title for a fifth time having won four times including one in Morocco in 2014.

Real will start the tournament in the semifinals on February 8, when they play against either CONCACAF champions Seattle Sounders, Egyptian giants Al Ahly, or New Zealand's Auckland City, the champions of Oceania in Rabat.

Winners from the semi-finals will play the final on February 11.
