German top-tier side FSV Mainz 05 started a training programme earlier this week aimed at equipping Kenyan coaches with modern tactics and skills.
FSV Mainz 05 is among the clubs that regularly feature in the Bundesliga - one of the top leagues in the world.
The club is currently ranked 11th in the 2022/2023 log with 23 points, 14 less than league leaders Bayern Munich.

The training programme was officially opened by Thomas Wimmer, the Deputy German ambassador to Kenya, on Tuesday, January 31.
“Football made in Germany! Deputy ambassador Wimmer was today happy to officially open a 5-month football coaches’ training programme.
“Organized by Inspire Africa Connect & Schachter Sports in partnership with German football club FSVMainz 05,” read part of the statement from the German Embassy.
The tacticians undergoing the training were drawn from different local youth football associations.
According to the embassy, the programme was initiated to support football development in the country and promote Bundesliga brands.
Kenya’s football industry is developing at a snail's pace particularly due to mismanagement and a lack of enough trained coaches.
The country was recently banned by FIFA due to the government's involvement in the running of football.
However, if all goes well, upcoming footballers would benefit from the skills these coaches learn in Germany and even play in top European leagues.
They can join other stars with Kenyan roots who have had an opportunity to feature in the Bundesliga including red-hot FC Koln winger Linton Maina and ex-FSV Mainz 05 defender Philipp Mwene.
