
Kenya lionesses fly half Grace Adhiambo Okulu completed her move to Japanese club, Nagato Blue Angels on Tuesday, February 7.
Odhiambo penned down a six-month deal where she will be a part of their local sevens campaign which kicks off on February 11.
Commenting on her move to Japan Odhiambo noted that her dream to have rugby as professional has been fulfilled.

“I’ve always been aiming to build my career as a professional athlete and I’m very grateful for the opportunity. I’m looking forward to deepening my skills and career as a rugby player.
“I am just happy for this opportunity because it’s something that I really wished I can get and more by playing professional rugby. This is a chance for me to get more skills in my rugby career and also to gain a lot from their end too,” Odhiambo noted.
Beginning her sports journey as a footballer Adhiambo has seen a rise in her rugby career since her debut for Kenya at only 17.
Adhiambo becomes the second Kenyan from Lionesses to play in Japan following her fellow Lionesses teammate Janet Okello.
Okelllo a former Mwamba RFC star winger joined Japanese side MIE Pearls Women’s Rugby Football Club in March 2022, on a year-long contract.
Blue Angels compete in the Taiyo Seimei Women’s Seven Series, where 12 clubs play in four tournaments over four months to determine a national champion.
