Football Kenya Premier League leader Gor Mahia share the same goal difference with Police FC at 16, the highest in the league.

Gor Mahia has scored a total of 22 goals with more than half of the goals coming from their top striker Benson Omalla.

This being his fourth season as a Gor Mahia player, the 21-year-old striker has dominated the FKF-PL with 15 goals in 14 games.

However, it has not been a smooth journey for Omalla who was signed by K’Ogalo in September 2020 from Western Stima.

In his first season at Gor, Omalla struggled to find game time following the presence of top players like Jules Ulimwengu among others.

He opted to move to Sweden joining Swedish fourth-tier side FC Linkoping City on a short loan spell (six months).

Omalla did not finish the six months as the loan move was cut short after only two months forcing him to return to Kenya.

In the 2021/2022 season, Omalla cemented his place at Gor having played 74 per cent of matches across all competitions.

Having featured in 26 matches Omalla found the back of the net seven times.

In a past interview, Omalla expressed his joy in scoring almost every weekend.

“It's a plus for me and the team. I just want to keep on scoring. If it can happen in every game then l will be very happy." Benson Omalla stated.
