The Kenya Federation of American Football (KFAF) has announced plans to introduce women's Flag Football in Samburu.

“Senator Hezena is a strong advocate for youth development and has been a driving force in supporting American football in Kenya.
“As a member of the trade industrialization and tourism committee in the Senate, she plans to promote sports tourism for future development,” read the statement from KFAF.
The Senator is also a sports enthusiast as she is the founder of Pastoralists Sports Initiative, which uses sports and culture to economically empower youth and promote peace.
In her school days, the Senator was an athlete and she was a champion in netball and volleyball.
Recently the KFAF officials held a meeting with the Nairobi Deputy Governor James Njoroge where they discussed the impact of American football in creating positive change in society.
American football was introduced to Kenya in around 2012 with the University of Nairobi as the first university to adopt it.
This was then followed by the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) and the United States International University Africa (USIU).
According to the federation officials, it is easier to introduce the sport to universities as there are already set-up structures.
