The Football Federation of Kenya (FKF) has put to task the Confederation of African Football (CAF) on matters concerning COVID-19 testing of players.

This was after four Kenyan players barred from playing were not positive of the virus since the they had two tests before jetting out of the country and they were all Covid free but on reaching Lome hours before the game four of the key players turned out positive and the FKF boss failed to understand how.

Skipper Micheal Olunga, defender Joash Onyango, keeper Ian Otieno, midfielder Lawrence  Juma, Winger James Mazembe and two members of staff were said to be positive by the Togolese health officials and the federation.

Mwendwa said  this was a form of distraction from the Togo Federation to the Kenyan players which later they overcame with a 2-1 victory as both teams bowed out of the AFCON qualifiers.

The FKF boss has called out on the Confederation of African Football (CAF)to intervene on this matter so as players don't have to suffer such incidents in the near future by providing neutral medical personnel who will conduct the testing of players from both teams.

If the matter is overlooked by CAF then most federations will take advantage of the situation and promote unfairness in the game.
