French and English football giants Paris Saint Germain and Arsenal on Wednesday through their social media handles joined the Rwandan people and the rest of the world in commemoration of the 1994 Genocide.

The two clubs through a video in their social media platforms that involved some of their star players and members of the technical bench went ahead and stated that they stand with Rwanda to mark their 27th commemoration of the Genocide.

Alexandre Lacazette and Mikel Arteta in the 40 seconds video said “We honor the memory of more than one million victims and pay tribute to the strength and courage of the survivors.”

The two clubs secured a 3 year deal with Rwanda's Tourism ``Visit Rwanda''. Rwanda is banking heavily on a tourism windfall to develop its economy. In particular, the country is betting on high-end travel (thanks to the mountain gorillas of the Volcanoes National Park) and hosting conferences and the sponsorship with the two clubs has been a big boost to the country's tourism sector.

The 3 year deal from Rwanda's tourism has made the two clubs affiliated with the country. They came together in expressing unison with the country as it marked 27 years of commemoration .

The people of Rwanda for the past 27 years after the Genocide have showcased resilience ,growth and transformation which is a testament to the enduring spirit of humanity and with the two clubs standing with the state during this time also proves how football is not just a game but an activity that values humanity too.
