Tanzania Premier League champions Simba SC are considering a swift move for Kenya International keeper Patrick Matasi who is currently plying his trade with Ethiopia’s St Georges FC.

Simba coach Didier Gomes is believed to be prepared for the departure of first choice keeper Aishi Manula who will leave the club at the end of the season.

The Tanzania number one is headed to South Africa with Premier Soccer League giants Mamelodi Sundowns keen to landing his signature.

29-year old Matasi is yet to feature for The Horsemen in Ethiopia since the arrival of former Gor Mahia FC coach Frank Nutall and he was left on the bench on Sunday in their 1-0 win in Shager Derby against their arch rivals Ethiopian Coffee FC.

He has had a frustrating time in Ethiopia and his recent performances have led to him losing a starting spot both at club and in the national team. The last time he featured for Harambee Stars was in 2019 during the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations(AFCON) qualifiers.
